Samantha is an associate based in the firm's Jamaica office.
She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies Mona and Cave Hill campuses where she earned her Bachelors' degrees in International Relations and Political Science (double major) and Law, each with honours. Samantha obtained her Legal Education Certificate from Norman Manley Law School in 2010 and was the recipient of the Grant Stewart Phillips Prize for Civil Procedure and Practice I & II. She was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in 2010 and the Trinidad and Tobago Bar in 2013.
Samantha's career began as a Legal Advisor at the Gleaner Company Limited, one of leading publishing enterprises in the Caribbean, where she practised in areas of litigation, corporate, and commercial law for the Company and its thirteen subsidiaries and associated companies. She has experience in conveyancing, copyrights, trademarks, corporate governance, regulatory and compliance issues and the preparation and reviewing of commercial documents. Additionally, Samantha's work included a wide cross section of legal and societal issues such as lobbying for reform of Jamaica's libel laws and consulting in the Data Protection Legislation workshop.
Samantha enjoys giving back and has been actively involved in a number of social, charitable and outreach initiatives such as Rotary, Crayons Count, Jamaica National Foundation Action Volunteer and is a member of the Jamaica Bar Association where she sits on the Continuing Legal Education Committee and the Social Affairs and Outreach Committee.
