Christina Maycock is an Associate in the Barbados office of Lex Caribbean and was admitted to the Barbados Bar in October 2015.
Christina obtained her primary and secondary school education on the Island and in 2013, attained a degree in Law from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus (“UWI”). In 2015, she gained her Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad. Her background is diverse as she also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from UWI which exposed her to many areas of financial management at the domestic and international level. Most notably, Christina has worked at a leading regional financial institution as an analyst with portfolios giving her responsibilities across the Caribbean region.
Christina is a member of the international business and entrepreneurial business units of the firm where she is rapidly developing core competencies as a result of her involvement in high value and complex matters. She participates heavily in the activities of the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) and is a member of the BIBA Legal Profession Committee. Her participation in BIBA has introduced her to the work of the organisation and its contribution to the international business sector in Barbados. Her most recent contribution to the sector includes assisting the BIBA Legal Profession Committee in relation to the draft Limited Liability Partnership Bill.
Christina’s interests are varied as she has been heavily involved in athletics, dance and other performing arts, having studied ballet and jazz dance for over a period of 10 years. She is also invested in her community and has assisted with the projects of service organisations such as Soroptimist International Barbados.
At present, Christina is focused on deepening her involvement with The Preservation (Barbados) Foundation Trust which was created in order to raise funds for the preservation of the built heritage of Barbados.
