Haylee Shaw is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation, Restructuring and Insolvency Department of Lex Caribbean’s Barbados office.
She received her Bachelor of Laws with Second Class Honours in 2015 from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica and her Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School in 2017. Haylee was recruited by Lex Caribbean in July 2017, after having completed her in-service training with the firm in 2016, and was called to the Barbados Bar in October 2017.
Presently, Haylee’s practice is focused on the resolution of disputes relating to mortgage enforcement, cross-border bankruptcy and insolvencies, employment/labour and other commercial disputes.
Complementing the transnational nature of her practice is Haylee’s pivotal role in the facilitation of ‘Model United Nations’ (MUN), an educational simulation aimed at teaching students the intricacies of debating and diplomacy, public speaking, international relations, and the goals of the United Nations.
Haylee is committed to the community and demonstrates this through her strong social conscience. She has been elected to several leadership roles in various service organizations in Barbados, most recently as a Director of the Executive Board of the Rotaract Club of Barbados – an international service club committed to professional development, leadership and community service.
An avid writer and award-winning visual artist, Haylee is a native English speaker and is proficient in Spanish.
