Krystal Richardson-Dumitriu is a Partner in the Litigation Department of Lex Caribbean’s Trinidad and Tobago office.

Krystal obtained a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Literature and History from the University of the West Indies in 2006. She returned in 2009 to obtain an LLB (Hons.), and subsequently attended Hugh Wooding Law School where she was awarded her Certificate of Legal Education (Hons.) in 2011. Prior to joining the firm in September 2018, Krystal spent three years as a Judicial Research Counsel, working alongside a High Court Judge at the Judiciary of Trinidad & Tobago. Additionally, she also spent over three years as a Litigation Associate at another leading Law Firm.

Krystal is a member of the Law Association of Trinidad & Tobago and since her admission to practice, has built an extensive civil litigation portfolio. She has a depth of experience in the areas of insolvency, insurance, and general civil and commercial disputes. She regularly instructs Senior Counsel in large contentious insolvency matters and in her capacity as Counsel, she represents several local and regional insurance, banking and financial institutions.

Krystal has a keen eye for detecting potential contentious issues, has a keen grasp on complex legal concepts and thrives on finding effective strategy for each case that reaches her desk.

In her spare time Krystal enjoys travelling, writing, reading and lending her hand to the betterment of the community. She is also an editor of the Trinidad office’s ‘Lex Talk’ newsletter.
