Traimaine D. Taylor is a Senior Associate in the Conveyancing and Property Development practice in the Barbados office.  Traimaine’s main area of practice is property law and he is involved in the sale of residential and commercial assets involving large property developments, condominiums and hotels as well as residential real estate transactions.  He is involved in corporate commercial mortgage financing and he advises on local law and regulatory issues on loan and security arrangements in the context of complex and high value transactions. In addition to his main practice area, on occasion Traimaine lends his expertise to the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and Restructuring practice.  

Traimaine graduated from The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, Barbados in 2015 with a Bachelor of Laws Degree with First Class Honours.  That same year he obtained a place at the Hugh Wooding Law School and commenced study for his Legal Education Certificate.  During his course of study at the Hugh Wooding Law School Traimaine represented the Law School at The American and Caribbean Law Initiative Spring Clinic in 2016, participating with distinction in several rounds of mooting competitions.  Traimaine graduated from the Law School in 2017 obtaining his Legal Education Certificate and was awarded Most Outstanding Student in the Legal Aid Clinic.  Traimaine was admitted to the Bar in Barbados in October 2017.

In 2017 Traimaine commenced employment with a firm in Barbados.  In that role he was able to gain valuable experience in several practice areas, including conveyancing, estates, litigation and commercial matters before leaving to join the Lex Barbados team in October 2023.      

In 2021, Traimaine completed postgraduate study, earning a Master of Laws Degree in Intellectual Property from The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus.

Apart from his academic and professional pursuits Traimaine is an avid athlete having represented his club in several amateur fitness competitions on the local circuit.  Most notably, he was the winner of an inter-gym competition in 2019 in the Men’s physique tall category.
