Whitney Jacobs is a Senior Associate at Lex Caribbean, Trinidad office in the litigation department.

She was awarded a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados in 2013 and obtained her Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in 2015.

Prior to being called to the Trinidad and Tobago Bar in 2015, she completed summer internships with the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Public Administration and the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation. She worked with two prestigious law firms based in Port of Spain prior to joining Lex Caribbean.

Whitney acts as Counsel and Instructing Attorney-at-law in the attendance of conferences, trials and appeals before the Court and tribunals. She engages in pre-action negotiations and the preparation of settlement agreements. She has extensive experience in personal injury claims, mortgagee actions, employment issues and contracts, land acquisition and disputes as well as corporate commercial actions which include, but are not limited to, insolvency actions and breach of contract.

During her practice in civil litigation, she has garnered strategic experience in the representation of both commercial and non-commercial clientele and is focused on achieving result-oriented solutions that are in line with her clients’ objectives as well as reducing client exposure, both current and future, through her detailed and comprehensive approach.

Whitney is an avid contributor towards community development; and enjoys spending her spare time painting, gardening or reading.
